Art of Zen:
Acupuncture & Therapeutic Massage

A personalized approach to pain relief, muscle tension, and whole-body wellness.

Experience the benefits of combining acupuncture with therapeutic massage in a treatment designed around your body and your needs.

At Artizen Acupuncture, I combine the precision of acupuncture with the hands-on benefits of therapeutic massage to help address areas of tension, discomfort, and imbalance. Rather than relying on a single technique, each session brings together the therapies that best support your goals.

Whether you're dealing with chronic pain, tight muscles, headaches, or the effects of everyday stress, Art of Zen offers a space to slow down, reconnect with your body, and receive thoughtful, individualized care.

Why Combine Acupuncture & Massage?

Acupuncture and massage offer complementary approaches to supporting your body. Acupuncture involves the placement of fine needles at specific points, while therapeutic massage works directly with muscles and other soft tissues.

Together, they allow us to approach discomfort from different angles. Acupuncture can help support pain modulation and relaxation, while massage provides targeted attention to areas of muscular tension and restricted movement.

Your treatment is customized to address what you're experiencing that day, whether that means focusing on a stubborn area of pain, working through tight muscles, or creating space for deeper relaxation.

What can Art of Zen help with?

Art of Zen is designed for people looking for personalized, whole-body therapeutic care. Treatment may be helpful for:

  • Neck, shoulder, and back pain

  • Muscle tension, tightness, and stiffness

  • Headaches and muscle tension associated with headaches

  • Chronic or recurring musculoskeletal discomfort

  • Limited mobility or restricted movement

  • Stress, physical tension, and difficulty relaxing

  • Tension related to posture, repetitive activities, or daily demands

  • Supporting recovery and overall physical well-being

Every treatment is different. We'll discuss your concerns, health history, and goals to determine which techniques are most appropriate for you.

What's Included in Your Treatment?

Each Art of Zen session is tailored to your needs and may incorporate a combination of the following:

Acupuncture

Fine needles are placed at selected acupuncture points based on your concerns and treatment goals. Acupuncture may help support pain relief, relaxation, and the body's natural regulatory processes.

Therapeutic Massage

Hands-on massage addresses areas of muscular tension and discomfort, with attention to the regions that need the most support. Your session may focus on the neck, shoulders, back, or other areas depending on your needs.

Cupping

Cupping may be incorporated to provide additional soft-tissue stimulation and address areas of muscular tightness. The approach is adjusted to your comfort and treatment goals.

Reflexology

When appropriate, focused work on the feet can provide a relaxing addition to your session and complement the broader treatment.

Additional Supportive Therapies

Depending on your needs, your session may also include red and near-infrared light therapy, an infrared TDP lamp, topical herbal products, aromatherapy, or hot towels.

Not every technique is used in every session. Your treatment is designed around you—not a preset sequence of modalities.

"Ashley is AMAZING! I have never had acupuncture before. Ashley walked me through the process, how it can be helpful to relaxing muscles, and incorporated it into the massage. As an active person with constantly sore muscles and a desk job it was just what I needed!"

Why try acupuncture in Camas?

Natural healing

The stimulation of acupuncture points is believed to stimulate the central nervous system. This floods the body with chemicals which induce your body's natural healing response.

Non-invasive and pain-free

Acupuncture requires the use of very thin, sterile, single-use needles. We insert these needles 1/4 to 1/2 inch into the skin, which is shallow. Most patients report having absolutely no discomfort during treatment, and some may even find it relaxing.

Holistic approach

While other pain management methods may simply mask one or two symptoms, acupuncture takes into account the entire body as a whole. Your provider may stimulate acupuncture points that are far away to your treatment areas. This is because we understand that the body is connected and the points we choose to stimulate can heal the body from the inside out.

FAQ

Does acupuncture hurt?

We use very small, thin needles for your acupuncture treatment! Most patients report feeling no pain at all.

How many needles do you use?

The number of needles we use for your acupuncture treatment at Artizen Acupuncture depends on the treatment area and desired outcome. During a typical treatment we may use anywhere from 10 to 20 needles.

What should I book if it's my first visit?

If you're new to Artizen Acupuncture or unsure which treatment is right for you, book the Art of Zen first visit. This allows time to discuss your health history, identify your priorities, and develop a personalized treatment approach.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on your concerns, how long you've been experiencing them, and how your body responds. Some people seek occasional support, while others benefit from a series of treatments. We'll discuss an approach that makes sense for your goals.

Is this treatment relaxing or more clinical?

Both. Art of Zen is designed to address therapeutic concerns such as pain and muscular tension while providing a calm, restorative experience. The goal is to combine meaningful therapeutic work with time to relax.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not bill insurance directly. You are welcome to check with your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you, and we can provide you with a super bill.
