Relieve tension,

balance

Jaw tension, clenching, grinding, headaches, and tightness through the face and neck can affect how you feel every day. At Artizen Acupuncture, Dr. Ashley Doyle combines facial acupuncture, therapeutic massage, intraoral techniques, and myofascial release to address muscular tension while supporting natural facial rejuvenation.

With an extensive background in massage therapy and specialized training in cosmetic acupuncture and facial sculpting, Ashley takes an integrative approach to treating the muscles and connective tissues of the face, jaw, and neck.

"Ashley is extremely knowledgeable in acupuncture. She was able to assess my condition in a way most cannot, being a massage therapist first. Her expertise in facial acupuncture is so valuable. I feel and look younger already! Her touch and needling is gentle and effective. She has a calming, professional demeanor. I highly recommend!"

Intraoral Massage & Myofascial Release

Specialized hands-on techniques address the muscles of the jaw and cheeks both inside and outside the mouth. Intraoral massage, also known as buccal massage, allows access to certain facial muscles that can be difficult to reach externally. Myofascial techniques help address areas of restriction and muscular tightness.

Facial Acupuncture

Acupuncture is incorporated to complement hands-on treatment and support your overall therapeutic goals. Treatment points are selected according to your individual presentation and may include points on the face and body.

Facial Sculpting & Natural Rejuvenation

Relaxing overworked facial muscles and improving local circulation may also support a refreshed appearance. Facial sculpting massage, gua sha, and other supportive techniques can help address temporary puffiness and enhance the appearance of facial contours. Cosmetic rejuvenation is an added benefit of a treatment designed first and foremost around your comfort and function.

FAQ

Can this treatment help with TMJ or jaw tension?

The term TMJ refers to the temporomandibular joint, while TMD refers to disorders involving the joint and surrounding structures. Acupuncture, massage, and myofascial techniques may help some people manage muscular jaw tension and related discomfort. Results vary, and treatment is not a guaranteed cure for TMJ disorders.xing.

What is intraoral massage?

Intraoral massage, often called buccal massage, involves working with certain muscles of the cheeks and jaw from inside the mouth as well as externally. It allows a more targeted approach to some areas of facial muscle tension. Gloves and appropriate hygiene procedures are used, and the technique is performed with your consent.

Is this treatment only for people with jaw pain?

Not at all. While the treatment is designed with jaw and facial muscle tension in mind, it may also appeal to people experiencing facial tightness, stress-related tension, or a desire for facial sculpting and natural-looking rejuvenation.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your symptoms, goals, and response to treatment. Most people benefit from a series of treatments before cutting back to maintenance treatments. Ashley will discuss with you what your goals are and address your individual needs.

Can I receive treatment if I have Botox or fillers?

Please let Ashley know about any recent injections, fillers, dental procedures, or other cosmetic treatments before your appointment. Timing and techniques may need to be adjusted depending on the procedure and your healing times. In general it's best to wait 4 weeks after botox or filler, and 6-12 months for threads.

When should I seek additional care?

Persistent or severe jaw pain, jaw locking, difficulty opening your mouth, or changes in your bite warrant assessment by a dentist or another qualified healthcare professional. Acupuncture and manual therapy may complement appropriate care but do not replace diagnosis or treatment of underlying joint or dental conditions.
